well...nice last post.

since you wont rate yourself i will do so then and i totally don't believe your 'humble' statement...haha

over a score of 10 i'd give you 6.5. like i said i believe there's more in you than just that.

so when is you next uni match? SMU's is next week if i'm not wrong rite? Well i hope you give your best shot then instead of chickening out like in NUS. haha. I may go down and pop by if my class ends early. if not good luck!

and yeah this is starting to get like facebook msging except on a blog!.haha

so anyway if you still want you reward, i wont refuse, but be HUMBLE and choose a reward worthy of your work.

and just to be pre-emptive, dun anyhow come and gimme some crap on how if you win the SMU basketball 3-on-3 you deserve another reward. let me tell you first..NO WAY..haha...no way cheating me into such another mindless deal ok...haha....

excuses

was playing this NUS 3on3 tournament with a few friends and i couldnt help but realise hall stuff is kinda fun man. damn fun.

anyway, back to the topic. we were quite favoured to win. had good players and all on paper. and we didnt disappoint. we made it to the finals, where we were matched up with quite a good team. however, their players didnt have the credentials to match ours..but they were really good and it was a toss up as to who would win. before the match we were kinda distracted and discussed prize money and stuff between 1st and 2nd places. and since the diff was just 50 bucks, we concurred that 2nd wasnt 'too shabby'. so we went on and lost the match. and to our many shocked friends who asked how we could have lost in the following days, we told em we didnt bother compete and were happy with 2nd.

some people just like to give stupid excuses and not 'man up' when they're just aint good enough and lose. kinda irritating eh. i think i've done it a couple of times myself.

anyway, you might find it weird that i'm writing and citing this example of myself giving a lame excuse for losing. well, thats cause it really isnt an excuse..haha. we really didnt have the motivation and didnt compete as hard as our earlier matches. whether that was so we could have an excuse had we lost or just us being pure lazybums who slacked off i dont know. but it felt like we were walking while our opponents were running. they wanted to kill us while we only wanted to spar with them.

so those guys better watch out. cause next time we wont slack off (kinda sound someone i'm describing in the 3rd para). anyway,if this post seems extremely incoherent or dumb, help me call for help or something. had this head collision yest and i have no idea if i'm concuss-ing. lol. i'm serious.

Scorecard

Let me first congratulate you in getting this far in the bet. In retrospect this was really quite a stupid bet and i'm surprised you actually followed through with it.

As for your posts, I particularly like your most recent one about dreamers and realists. Dreams are just dreams if no action is taken, but it takes a dreamer to realise something a realist could never achieve. If Martin Luther had just sat on his dreams, there probably would be no black president today, but had it not been for his dreams, there definitely would be no black president today. The world is defined by dreamers, so many of history's greatest moments are a result of such outrageous dreams. Dreams can change the world. So never stop dreaming.

Your 'dead and gone' post is also pretty thought provoking. I hardly ever delve into the meaning of songs and especially songs of that particular genre but the more I listen to it the more I like it. This song doesn't just talk about learning from our mistakes, but also about finding yourself in the process, something like the prodigal son. Sometimes we engage in stupid mindless activities that only leave us in regret. But its ok to make stupid mistakes just as long we 'find our way back home' in the end. I don't know why but I feel strangely comforted listening to the song, it really gives me the sense that everything is going to be ok.

As for the total evaluation of your postings, I got to give you points on a good first attemp but you have the potential to be much better. I can tell some of your posts were done half heartedly, but who can blame you right? I wouldn't have bothered writing for a stupid bet. I'll let you self-evaluate and you can decide if you deserve any reward or not.

I look forward to reading an exciting last post from you.

the penultimate post

a realist is a person that views the world as it is (got this from dictionary.com...aint crappin here). so by my humble inference, he/she doesnt expect anything exceptional to happen. a dreamer on the other hand is one who has out of this world fantasies. in other words, he believes things can change for the better. its nice to be a dreamer, but to achieve those dreams, you have to be a realist to some extent. you have to work hard and do whatever is realistic.

isnt it weird that you're doing something while what you want to achieve is the total opposite?

to enjoy the euphoria of winning a race, you'll have to put yourself through tortuous training. to pole vault, you'll first have to learn to fall properly.

anyway, being a dreamer always seems more fun than not being a dreamer doesnt it. but unfortunately, works gotta be done to realise those dreams. anyway, i believe everyone knows this, just whether they are motivated enough to practice it. like we all know hard work has to be done to yield good grades(ok, this doesnt apply to resident geniuses), but whether we do it eventually is all up to ourselves. well, you probably heard that countless times too.

well, so now its back to dreaming for me. dreaming of what to write for the last entry!

darn IR

kinda concerned about the effect the IR is going to have on me.. well here's the story.

blackjacks the game. affordable $2 bets. irritating banker irks us (this kinda contradicts my prev post. but whatever.) so now we're playing $10. nice eh...ten bucks for 2 cards. things aint going too well. so now its $20. guess what, friend goes crazy and stakes $100. feeling a little crazy...so lets bet $100..haha. anyway, my friends a saf regular. i'm jobless. after a few rounds, i finally relocate my brain and bet $30 the rest of the way and we all play $2 per round at the end. was fortunate enough to have a net positive by the end of the game. but i know as well i could have had to finally get a job to repay my debts.

anyway, if i'm betting $100 now on no income, how much would i stake in the future?? better ask my family to write in and ban me from entering those darn IRs.

um,this is a lil contradictory...but the thrill of having that amount of money on the line is kinda cool.you should try it at least once man (can see myself revisiting the thrill real soon). um, maybe you'll need one of those bans too.

well, for the record, this is a once in awhile thing. aint a problem for me, i hope. haha

be cool

sometimes don't you just feel that people are over anxious. like when a car moves off at a traffic light a fraction late, people blare their horns in frustration. you take a lil longer while paying for stuff at the cashier and the person behind you is irked, big time..minor issues yet such needless emotion.

kinda wonder whether these people realise the amount of unhappiness and angst they put themselves through just cause they cant take a step back at times and be cool. how is waiting a minute more going to affect your life so adversely that you have to be so peeved by it.(anyway, sometimes you can feel pissed for eg. when your wife's in labour and the dude driving in front of ya is oh so slow....thats why i dont want to have kids.haha).anyway, such situations are rare and it'll be real cool if we could all take a step back, give others the benefit of the doubt and be cool.

try not to be rude to service staff when they forget stuff. ignore inconsiderate people. and most importantly, reward your friends when they complete a dare *wink* (the last point aint linked. just had to write it though).
